What time is it in Arizona?
Arizona and daylight saving time
Before coming to ASU, you’ll want to be aware that Arizona doesn't observe daylight saving time. Depending on where you are the time difference between your city and Arizona may vary during the year. This is because (most of) Arizona does not observe daylight saving time.

A note on Arizona time
Depending on where you are in the U.S., the time difference between your city and Arizona may vary during the year. This is because (most of) Arizona does not observe daylight saving time. (The Navajo Nation in northeastern Arizona does observe daylight saving time, but no ASU campuses or locations are situated there.)
Arizona opted to cease observance of daylight saving time because lengthening the day in a place that’s already pretty hot in the summertime doesn’t make much sense. People had to use their air conditioners more as the hot summer afternoons became longer.
One way to think about it is that when the rest of the country springs ahead, it appears that Arizona falls back. And when everyone else falls back, it’s as though Arizona springs ahead. Too much to remember? Then just bookmark this webpage and you’ll always know what time it is at ASU.
