  • Tailor your degree for health professions: You will have the opportunity to customize the degree to meet the prerequisites of the health professions programs for which you intend to apply, including medicine (MD, DO and naturopathic), dentistry, physician assistant programs, pharmacy, occupational therapy, optometry and others.
  • Learn from practicing health care providers: Learn directly from health care providers who are currently practicing in the field, and select clinically related internships or electives during your junior year.
  • Prepare for postgraduate entrance exams: Prepare for required postgraduate entrance exams, including the revised MCAT.
  • Develop essential health care competencies: The program integrates communication, ethics, critical thinking, teamwork and leadership, all of which are essential competencies for members of today's health care teams.
  • Direct admission to your major: You’re admitted directly into your chosen health program, avoiding the stress of competing for limited spots after enrollment since our programs do not suffer from impaction.
  • Industry partnerships: Benefit from the College of Health Solutions’ relationships with top health care organizations, including internship and job opportunities across the Southwest and beyond.
  • Same degree, more flexibility: Earn the same prestigious ASU degree as in-person students, with the benefit of choosing the learning format that works best for you from fully online to hybrid class options for in-person students.
  • Sunny weather, dynamic lifestyle: Enjoy ASU's vibrant campus life, warm desert climate and easy access to Arizona outdoor adventures while staying close to California’s coastline and attractions.
  • California connections: Join a strong network of California students and alumni who have chosen ASU for its high-quality education and gone on to thrive in health-related fields.

Global opportunities

Professional health education is competitive. Fewer than half of students who apply to medical schools are admitted. Students who pursue medical studies abroad can advance their cultural awareness, medical experience and understanding of global health. Global Education programs expand a student's knowledge of culturally specific health approaches while helping them develop strategies to adapt to unique social circumstances. The College of Health Solutions recommends these programs for students majoring in medical studies.
